Hi Everyone! My name is Sarah Dodge and I am an Assistant Director for Orientation & New Student Programs. I work most closely with Transfer Student Support, Family Weekend, and Summer Orientation. I am originally from Massachusetts and am happy to talk about Patriots football or Red Sox baseball with anyone who will listen! I graduated from Elon University in 2013 with a B.S. in Communication Science and completed my M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Miami University in 2016. My favorite things about living in Charlottesville ar eexploring local restaurants, enjoying the outdoors, and taking advantage of all of the special events and festivals that come to town throughout the year.
Hey y’all! I am Funlola Fagbohun and I am an Assistant Director for Orientation & New Student Programs. I work primarily with Summer Orientation, Wahoo Welcome, and Grounds for Discussion. I’m originally from Texas; I joined the team after completing my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Master of Science in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). When I’m not at work you can find me screaming at the TV during SEC football games, spending time with family/friends, traveling, reading, crafting, or binge watching a new series on Netflix. My favorite thing about Charlottesville is how much culture is packed in our little city. I love trying the new restaurants, enjoying the arts, and spending time outdoors at all of the fun events that pop up in the spring and summertime.
Hello there! My name is Andy Petters, and I serve as the Associate Dean and Director of Orientation & New Student Programs. I work closely with the Assistant Directors, Funlola and Sarah, and our wonderful team of student leaders to support the development of new students at the University. I’m also Director of Residence Life and partner closely with the Resident Staff program. I grew up in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina. I still enjoy heading back home to that area for visits and going to the beach. I’ve called Charlottesville home since 2012 and really love everything this town has to offer. When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me at the pool in the AFC or out to eat at one of the amazing restaurants here in town. I also spend a lot of quality time with my dog, Benson, who is a shih-tzu poodle mix. There are many outdoor trails and spots to explore. Please contact any member of our team with any questions or concerns.
