Betty Chelli

Hi there!

My name is Betty Chelli and I am UVA’s inaugural Associate Director of the Second Year Experience! I co-advise Second Year Council and also work with transfer students. I coordinate a transfer programming group where transfer students can find community with each other and within the greater UVA student body.

I’m a born and raised Jersey girl who will always hate pumping her own gas, but I’ve also worked at universities in Michigan and Ohio. I got my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology at Kean University and my MS Ed. in Global and International Education at Drexel University. I’m also a proud first gen American, first gen college student, and a former transfer student!

In my free time I love board games and puzzles, crafting, and baking (follow me @bakerbetty13)! As someone new to the mountains, I’d have to say the beautiful scenery is my favorite thing about Charlottesville.
