UVA Summer Orientation

YOUR UVA JOURNEY BEGINS NOW


Summer Orientation offers an opportunity for students and their guests to visit Grounds and get acclimated to University life. Students and their guests will have the chance to experience the rich diversity of life on Grounds, and guests can gain a better understanding of the resources available to their students at UVA as well as the University's academic life.

DAY ONE 


CHECK-IN

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Culbreth Garage/Shuttle to Alderman Road Residence Halls

Park at the Culbreth Parking Garage, then shuttle to the Alderman Road Residence Halls. You will pick up your orientation materials, name tag, and UVA student ID when you arrive. Don’t forget to bring your overnight bag. You’ll be able to leave that in your room before heading to the next event!

The Emerging Adult Brain, Commonwealth Room
This talk explores the many remarkable changes unfolding in the emerging adult brain. Tips on how to let go while still staying connected to your young adult, as well as how to make sense of new (yet sometimes baffling) behaviors, will be provided. Participants will leave feeling better prepared to support students as they develop “adulting” skills and discover the worlds of meaningful work and intimate relationships.
