Hey y’all! I am Funlola Fagbohun and I am the Associate Director of the First Year Experience. I direct and coordinate all things related to a student's first year at UVA, and work collaboratively with our larger team dedicated to promoting a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant community where first and second-year students are equipped with foundational skills and resources that support retention and persistence.
I’m originally from Texas; I joined the team after completing my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Master of Science in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). When I’m not at work you can find me spending time with friends and family, traveling the world, reading, crafting, or binge watching a new series on one of the streaming services! My favorite thing about Charlottesville is how much culture is packed in our little city. I love trying the new restaurants, enjoying the arts, and spending time outdoors at all of the fun events that pop up in the spring and summertime.
