Wahoo Welcome 2021 Schedule

WAHOOWA AND WELCOME! Once you move into your residence hall in August, Wahoo Welcome kicks off the second part of your orientation experience! Throughout your first weeks at UVA, Wahoo Welcome provides opportunities to participate in academic and social activities that educate, inform, and officially welcome you into the UVA community.

Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. Brighter Together Arts Event (CANCELED FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER)

Join UVA Arts for Brighter Together: Projection Mapping Across Grounds with local artist Jeff Dobrow on the facade of Old Cabell Hall. Projection mapping plays with the evolving, fluid relationship between technology & art to produce interactive, immersive, and involving experiences. The energetic pop-up projections blend UVA’s prominent architecture with colorful lights and music in hopes of providing an uplifting, joyful, impactful and engaging encounter that will us all with a bit of wonder, curiosity, and maybe a new shared experience or memory to draw from.
