Welcoming New Students
As an incoming transfer student, you will find your Transfer Student Peer Advisor (TSPA) to be a valuable resource as you transition from your previous institution to the diverse academic, intellectual, and social culture of the University of Virginia. TSPA serve as initial contacts for newly admitted students, assist with the implementation of orientation and Wahoo Welcome programs, and provide general support for their group of advisees through emails, phone calls, and small group activities.
Your TSPA is an enthusiastic, approachable, knowledgeable student who can answer your questions about the University!
Interested in becoming a TSPA?
We welcome students who are genuinely interested in helping others, able to work with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, and are in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University to apply to be a TSPA! Students who have previously transferred to UVA are often ideal TSPAs, as they can relate to the issues that incoming transfer students face.
