Students transferring to UVA for the fall semester from another college or university are expected to attend Summer Orientation and Wahoo Welcome programs. Information will be sent to your UVA email address after the University receives your acceptance and tuition deposit.
Orientation costs are included in your fall tuition and fees bill. Incoming transfer students may take advantage of optional one-night housing on Grounds at the end of their Summer Orientation session for an additional fee, which can be paid at check-in.
During Summer Orientation you will receive your student ID card, select classes, and learn about services for students. If you are absolutely unable to attend, you will receive information from Orientation & New Student Programs regarding how best to prepare for classes in the fall.
A concurrent parent & guest orientation program is offered as well. Answers to frequently asked questions about parent & guest orientation are available online.
Wahoo Welcome kicks off the fall semester. You can participate in the one-day community service event Project SERVE, take a bus tour of Grounds, attend special events for incoming transfer students, and much more!
