Make Your Mark at UVA
Students transferring to the University of Virginia come from more than 200 other institutions of higher learning across the United States and around the world, bringing a wealth of experiences and backgrounds with them. We're delighted that you've chosen UVA as the place where you'll learn, explore, and achieve.
Whether you are an incoming student for the fall or transferring mid-year, we are here to support you! All incoming transfer students are paired with a Transfer Student Peer Advisor (TSPA) to help them through the transition to UVA. TSPAs are students who are very familiar with the transfer process because they have been through it themselves. TSPAs keep in touch with students throughout the academic year, coordinating activities for their small groups as well as events for the entire transfer student community.
Our New Student Resources page contains commonly requested information that you may find useful as you settle in. In addition, Orientation & New Student Programs is ready to help you work through challenging situations, discuss individual and community issues of concern, and develop programming ideas. Please contact Associate Dean of Students Aaron Laushway or Program Coordinator for Orientation & New Student Programs Sarah Dodge with any questions or concerns.
