Hey transfer! Welcome to UVA! My name is Madeline and I’m a current 3rd year majoring in kinesiology on the pre-med tract. In high school I mainly took dual enrollment classes so I was officially at community college for one semester transferring to UVA in the spring of 2021. I joined a lot of organizations when I started here because I wanted to get to know people. I got pretty involved in Remote Area Medical, joined the ice hockey team and started assisting with research in the Diet and Nutrition Lab in the kinesiology department. I love staying busy so when I’m not studying I’m probably riding my bike, weightlifting or drawing! Transferring here, especially mid-year, is tough because you miss good opportunities to make friends with other people your age who are also new to all things UVA.
