Day One

Student Health Medical Records Drop-Off Hours

8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Elson Student Health Center, 400 Brandon Ave

If you have not yet submitted your Pre-Entrance Health form or the copy of your Immunization Booklet, please visit Student Health. Submit your forms no later than two days prior to any immunization appointment at Student Health.

Check-In

10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Ern Commons, Alderman Road Residence Area

Park in the Slaughter Recreation Center lot and then walk over to Ern Commons to sign in, pick up orientation/academic information and student IDs. Move directly into assigned housing.

Dinner

5:00-6:30 p.m.

Welcome Dinner for International Students and Parents

6:30-9:00 p.m.

Slaughter Recreation Center

International first-year and transfer students and their families are invited to a casual dinner hosted by the University's Office of Engagement. Guests will have the opportunity to meet University faculty, student leaders, and staff; and hear from President Sullivan. Please consider public transportation, walking, or a taxi. Limited parking is available. If you would like to attend, please register by August 12 at http://uvaclubs.virginia.edu/signature-initiatives/international-welcome-dinner/.

Various Locations

Meet with a dean from your school to learn about academic requirements. Work with Orientation Leaders and faculty advisors to build your fall course schedule. If available, be sure to bring your credit evaluation of transcripts, SAT II, AP, IB and language placement exam scores. Students in the College of Arts & Sciences MUST bring a hard copy/printed version of courses you have pre-selected in the Student Information System (SIS) and placed in your shopping cart.
